Why I am a Teacher:  I have a sign up in my classroom, Those who care, teach.  I hope that every student who walks into my room knows that I do care!  I care about how much effort they put into the curriculum.  But above that, I care about how they view themselves.  For if they do not believe in themselves, then they can never reach their fullest potential: academically or personally.  Once they believe in themselves and their voice is found and fostered, the possibilities are endless!

  • Why I am in Education: Before teaching, I worked as a marketing manager for 17 years. During that time I represented clients such as SONY, Microsoft, Whirlpool, Intel and others. I even helped launch BlackBerry in Brazil. I had a good job, but I felt I needed to do something else. The favorite part of my job was training and mentoring my employees. Outside of work I loved reading and analyzing literature, I loved working in Scouting, I enjoyed coaching little league football. To me the choice was clear; I needed to become an English teacher. I am so excited to be here at Fremont High School.

I have been teaching for 19 years and I still love it. I started my career by teaching English at Washington High School.  I taught there for seven years and then was given the opportunity to come to Fremont.  I have been teaching here since. I have watched all three of my daughters graduate from Fremont since being here. I love to teach and interact with the students on a daily basis. I'm very fortunate to work somewhere I love doing what I was meant to do. My only goal is to make a difference in at least one student's life during the year.  I know that every one of my students leave a mark on my life.
