Why I am in Education: At all levels of my education, I've had those few teachers and coaches that have left a indelible mark on my life. They have become heroic figures for me not only because they were passionate about what they taught but also because they cared about me as a student. When it came time for me to decide how to meet the needs of my family as a provider, I tried a few different routes, which taught me important skills, but never filled me with the continued drive to be better. When I became a teacher, I felt that fire in me burn and I knew that I had found my career. I want to be the same influence on my students that so many of my teachers were to me. That is why I am in education.
Favorite TV Program: Arrow
Favorite Book: 1776 by David McCullough
Hidden Talent: Drawing / Sketching
Alma Mater: Utah State, University of Utah
Hometown: San Diego, California
Hobbies: First and foremost, I enjoy being with my family doing just about anything. I enjoy working on home improvement projects and our garden. I love to play just about any sport. Soccer, basketball, football, baseball, tennis, golf. As that is the case, I don't really excel at any of them but do enjoy competing. I like to read, but sometimes get bogged down in the continually growing list of books that I want to someday read.
Heroes: I admire anyone who gives of their time and talents to help others. My wife gives to us her family selflessly so often; she is one of my heroes.
Best thing about Fremont: I can't even count how many people have told me how great Fremont is. What is even better about these comments is that they have been completely unsolicited and thus I can tell the sincerity in them. I am very excited to be a part of this community and have been so impressed by the kindness of everybody already! When I walked into the school for the first time, I felt like I had come home.
Years in Education: I've been teaching since 2007
Years at Fremont: I've been at Fremont since 2015.
