Hope Squad
We are excited to get our Hope Squad up and running this year! The purpose of the squad is to:
- Enhance the health and safety measures already in place at a school
- Educate students on how to recognize warning signs of suicide
- Educate students how to respectfully reports potential suicide behavior
- Train students how to interact with, watch, and support fellow students/friends who may be struggling
- Implement evidence-based strategies through HOPE Squad training programs
- Reduce suicide attempts
“As a teacher here at Fremont High School I'm thankful for a program like HOPE SQUAD that empowers students to make a difference not only in their lives but those that are around them. In my experience in working with teenagers at a lock down facility, I've seen individuals at their lowest point in their lives. However, with support and love from people all around us, lives can be changed in a positive way just because somebody cared. If people would remind themselves how they would like to be treated this world would definitely be a better place.” – Chris Hancock, teacher advisor
Cross Country
A big thank you to the Fremont Cross Country:
The cross country team went to the animal shelter every Wednesday this summer to take the dogs for a run. They would meet at the fairgrounds to run 2-3 miles before the shelter opened. Then once the shelter opened they would get in pairs and take the dogs out to run and play for about 30 minutes to make sure all the dogs were able to get out of their cages for the day.

HOSA
HOSA is kicking off their fight against childhood hunger the first week of September!
HOSA provides Weekend Food Packs to local elementary schools! To start of the project this year students did a food drive at Walmart, have assembled the food packs and are ready for delivery the first week of September.
HOSA provides over 50 food packs a week to the community to help children have food to eat over the weekend.
The students work hard to facilitate this service project, and are thankful to the many people who donate and support this amazing program. Fremont HOSA implemented the Weekend Food Pack project 3 years ago and each year the number of students receiving food packs grows.
HOSA also has 5 students starting the community CERT class (Certified Emergency Response Team) on September 6th. After completion, these students will become part of Fremont’s CERT team and help with emergency drills and situations.
Seussical the Musical!
We are hard at work already with Seussical! Here is a picture of Madison Maughan training on aerial silks for the show. Show dates are Nov. 9, 10, 12, 16, and 17. Tickets will be available starting in October at fhs.wsd.net. We had auditions for the show this past week, and ended up with close to 90 students in the production. We will also be adding a live orchestra and stage crew with around 30-40 additional students. Each of these students will spend weeks learning all the music, choreography, blocking, and scene changes for the show. I will try to send you more pictures and updates as they come.
GO WOLVES!!!!!!! #Packunited
