Arne Erisoty in Fremont Auto Shop

Fremont High School’s legendary automotive technology instructor, Arne Erisoty, has been honored with Weber School District’s "I Love Teaching" award for January. With over three decades of experience—30 of which have been at Fremont High—Erisoty’s impact extends far beyond the classroom, shaping the lives of countless students and enriching the community.

Described as selfless, passionate, and unwavering in his dedication, Erisoty is revered by students, colleagues, and community members alike. "Arne is one of those teachers who just makes a difference," shared Dr. Rod Belnap, CTE Director. "He’s genuinely all about his students and wants nothing more than to see them succeed."

Erisoty’s hands-on approach to teaching bridges the gap between theory and real-world application, preparing students for successful careers in the automotive industry or to confidently handle their own automotive needs. From learning to change tires and drain oil to replacing brake pads, his students gain practical, lifelong skills. Beyond technical expertise, Erisoty emphasizes professionalism, safety, and innovation, instilling a deep sense of pride and purpose in his students.

Colleagues praise Erisoty’s unyielding enthusiasm and willingness to support others. "He’s always the first to step up and help out, no matter what," said one colleague. "His energy and passion inspire everyone around him."

Former students often return to express their gratitude for the life-changing impact Erisoty had on their lives. Many have pursued successful careers in the automotive field, carrying forward the lessons they learned in his classroom.

For Erisoty, the greatest reward is seeing his students grow in confidence. "Helping students build their confidence and succeed is what keeps me coming back," he said. Despite 30 years at Fremont High, he still teaches with the enthusiasm of a first-year instructor, making every day in his classroom meaningful and memorable.

The Weber School District proudly celebrates Arne Erisoty for his extraordinary contributions to education, the automotive program, and the lives of his students. His legacy is a testament to the profound and enduring impact of passionate teaching.
